Your B & B Host: I'm George Evans, and I've spent the last 20 years importing and exporting antiques and fine design pieces from Europe. I'm a New York City dealer and I have two showrooms in Lambertville, New Jersey.

This month we're bringing you an early production model of the Eames La Chaise chair created in 1948 for MoMA's International Competition for Low-Cost Furniture Design. Design greats Ray and Charles Eames saw their chair eventually go into production with Vitra and take its place in design history. This piece comes to us from the very progressive and fashion-forward dealers at SoHo Treasures at 123 Mercer Street in New York City.

This fiberglass shell with chromed steel supports and a solid oak base was a sculptural chair inspired by Gaston Lachaise's 1927 sculpture Reclining Nude. This chair and other iconic chair designs by Ray and Charles Eames have been widely exhibited in museums worldwide.
