Great Gueridons
We're Bond & Bowery, a website with the most diverse selection of antiques, design, and fine art in cyberspace. We highlight quality pieces without the clutter of competing ads and excessive editorial content. B & B understands the importance of a valuable acquisition and its contribution to home decoration.
Your B & B Host: I'm George Evans, and I've spent the last 20 years importing and exporting antiques and fine design pieces from Europe. I'm a New York City dealer and I have two showrooms in Lambertville, New Jersey.
This week we're bringing you a Pair of Gueridons, from June Greenwald Antiques, located at 3096 Mayfield Road in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. A gueridon is a small round table usually supported by one or more pillars, often featuring human or mythological characters. These tables are Empire style, and we love the rouge marble inserts on top. The griffin legs, X stretchers, and paw feet add extra flair to this pair.
Classical gueridons and other small tables can be spaced throughout a room to add comfort and support to a number of seating arrangements, as in this Chicago apartment -- or should we say salon, with a Pisarro and a Renoir flanking the fireplace. The living area has been beautifully decorated by LA-based Hendrix Allardyce.
We think our gueridons would look beautiful in your home, too.
For a more in-depth discussion about these gueridons, see my By George! interview with Design2Share. And visit Bond & Bowery for the item detail page and more information on this lovely pair of tables.
