Janet Ramin - As a designer, one of the questions that I’m frequently asked by potential clients and students alike is what style should I decorate my home in? Or, what style is this? Many times they have some idea, but it’s usually hazy and confused. On our Mood Board series, we’ll try to take the mystery out of the multitudes of styles by showing off furniture, lighting, and accessories that best reflect the essence of each style.

This year's green house giveaway is a green home located in Denver, Colorado. The city's vistas of endless blue sky and snow-topped mountains provide a fitting backdrop for the environmentally-conscious new construction. 

Some of the green features is a roof lined with photo-voltaic panels that provide 75% of the house's energy and exterior walls wrapped in recycled-cellulose insulation, preventing heat loss. The surrounding gardens also adopted green practices
