January's Top 5

1. The Children of Children Keep Coming

Look at the video from The Tower Journal that features school children and our friend Russell Goings, the founder of Essence magazine (and so much more). His epic poem of the African-American experience in America, The Children of Children Keep Coming, is inspiring students from grade school through college. We can't think of a better way to bring in the New Year than to focus on remembrance of things past and hope for a better future. Click on russell's photo to visit his Facebook page.

2. Your Majesties

After seeing The King's Speech, a superb movie treat, we're filled with royal ferver and all-things British! Our friend Ian Shapiro of London's Argyll Etkin Ltd. is Joint Managing Director and heads their Royalty and Historical Business as well as being recognized as a leading philatelist. (He writes for Majesty magazine and is the Company’s representative at the Royal Philatelic Society, London.) Check their website and auction listings and prepare for the British invasion as we count down to the London Olympics by collecting Royal Memorabelia and frame them on a special wall.

3. Great Strydes

We're loving the modern, tapered international lines of the award-winning Stryde Collection from Michael Wolke Design Associates.

4. Cold Cabinets

The custom cabinetry of the Italian firm Meneghini beautifully frames a chic range of refrigerators, freezers, and kitchen storage solutions.

5. Most Expensive

You're looking at the most expensive piece of English furniture ever. Sold at auction in 2010 for almost U.S. $6,000,000, the Harrington Chest was crafted in 1770 in London by Thomas Chippendale.
