It's a short visual trip to a place of architectural or design importance. What's a Trippy?
Where are we going?
Place Stanislas, the historic city center of Nancy, France. Nancy is one of the prettiest cities in Europe, and her position as capital of the duchy of Lorraine from the 12th to the 18th Century put many architectural jewels in her crown; this urban space was commissioned by the King of Poland (Stanislaw Leszczynski) and his son-in-law, Louis XV, and was built between 1751 and 1760.
What's to see?
The square's rococo beauty is incredible, evidenced by the gilded wrought-iron gates, the Hotel de Ville (town hall), the arcades, and surrounding buildings. Also visit Nancy for its great Art Nouveau architectural gems, featured in other neighborhoods.
