Trippy to:  the Finca Los Alamos, built as a fort in the early 1800s and later known as a literary salon and country retreat for greats such as Jorge Luis Borges; the atmosphere now is a combo of dude ranch and European manor hotel

Location: just outside Mendoza, Argentina, beautiful vineyard and orchard country with numerous estancias (ranches)
