Irwin's Kitchen Remodeling: Scope of Work

Irwin Weiner ASID - We're a bit behind in catching up our readers on the progress of our home remodeling project in rural Pennsylvania. We really miss our kitchen, and the novelty is fast wearing off of having to eat out all the time on the weekends when we're in our weekend house. Part of our Weekend Therapy is to plan a meal and cook something spur of the moment, so we'll be happy when it's all over. In this video, I'll take you through our emptied kitchen, laundry room, and powder room and describe the scope of work - and next week I'll show you two videos with substantial progress made on the project. Whenever homeowners begin an extensive remodeling or renovation project, however, always plan for the process to take longer than you expect. In our case, this is holding true and we expect to be without a kitchen through the months of January and February and sometime into March. It's the nature of the beast, even though every contractor we interviewed told us the job would take only 6 weeks.

Handmade Goods Elevate Design Beyond the Ordinary

Irwin Weiner ASID - It's not a rarity to find a young, talented, good-looking interior designer shooting a professional video like the one we're featuring today - but I'll be darned if the video only identifies him as "Andrew," a bohemian, globetrotting interior designer who spans the gap between everyday-yet-exotic handcrafted products and multi-million-dollar interiors. Thomas Hamel and His Sydney Penthouse Challenge

Irwin Weiner ASID - The joy of being a top-flight, in-demand interior designer like Thomas Hamel is being able to work with a variety of projects that express your personal creativity. Working with a core design team, Mr. Hamel's Australian operation (he was born in the U.S.) runs like a beautifully oiled machine, turning out custom interiors and architectural designs that please his international clientele. The following video is from his World of Design TV show pilot, and it shows his team's response to a new penthouse styling project in Sydney - the task is creating a turnkey environment that wealthy buyers will want to purchase, space and furnishings and accessories in one luxe package. We're staying tuned to see if and when it becomes a regular series as this designer is well worth watching.
