Irwin Weiner ASID - I think it's time to think more about decorating with flowers. I'm partial to taking fresh potted plants and placing them strategically here and there to give height to a tablescape, create a dramatic centerpiece, or add accent color to a furniture grouping. We all loved this video from Valdas Kotovas on orchids in interior design - lovely music along with stunning videos and interior shots. Holiday Ornaments

Irwin Weiner ASID - We are falling under the holiday spell these days, surfing the web for great things to share with our readers. We liked the homespun, traditional collect-a-special-ornament-each-year idea in the following Pottery Barn video, and we also liked this tip for turning new glass ornaments into instant antiques: with an eyedropper, put a drop of bleach inside a glass ornament and swirl it around to remove some of the bright color and give it a weathered patina. When we heard that one, we were hooked! It's going to be one of our must-try ideas this year. Please let us know if you've tried it and how it worked for you.

Decorating the White House

We are really getting into the holiday spirit, and at the White House, the Obamas had volunteers from every state helping them decorate our nation's home. And from the looks of the following video, they did a spectacular job. Many of these projects would be beautiful DIY projects at home, too, like the wide picture frames of hot-glued nutshells hung in windows and the long evergreen table runners.
