A Light from America's Past

We're Bond & Bowery, a website with the most diverse selection of antiques, design, and fine art in cyberspace. We highlight quality pieces without the clutter of competing ads and excessive editorial content. B & B understands the importance of a valuable acquisition and its contribution to home decoration.

Your B & B Host: I'm George Evans, and I've spent the last 20 years importing and exporting antiques and fine design pieces from Europe. I'm a New York City dealer and I have two showrooms in Lambertville, New Jersey.

This week we're bringing you a Handel Lamp, an exceptional example of the Handel Company's famed obverse or reverse painted lamps with its signature "chipped" sand-finished shades. This nostalgic lighting from the 1920s is offered by June Greenwald Antiques at 3096 Mayfield Road in Cleveland Heights, Ohio.

The nostalgia value is high on this artistic lighting piece, and it would fit in well with any number of interior styles as well as with a display of other Handel collectibles. Imagine how wonderful this lamp would look on the blue John Rosselli table, next to the Robin Bell Design black candle holders, in this lovely eclectic Arts & Crafts living room designed by Robin Bell (trivia: this New York seaside cottage was once owned by Gloria Vanderbilt, and her son Anderson Cooper grew up here).

We think our Handel lamp would look great in your home, too. For a more in-depth discussion about Philip J. Handel and his company's work, see my By George! interview with Design2Share. And visit Bond & Bowery for the item detail page on this nostalgic lighting piece.

French Finery

We're Bond & Bowery, a website with the most diverse selection of antiques, design, and fine art in cyberspace. We highlight quality pieces without the clutter of competing ads and excessive editorial content. B & B understands the importance of a valuable acquisition and its contribution to home decoration.

Your B & B Host: I'm George Evans, and I've spent the last 20 years importing and exporting antiques and fine design pieces from Europe. I'm a New York City dealer and I have two showrooms in Lambertville, New Jersey.

This week we're bringing you a French Louis XV Commode by Maitre Nicolas-Jean Marchand, an amazingly decorative piece reputed to be the handiwork of a skilled French craftsman and part of the Chateau de Lauroy family estate. This beautiful commode is offered by Cosulich Interiors & Antiques in New York City.

Add this dramatic 1725-1730 piece to any bedroom to give it flair and polish, as master designer Bunny Williams did with a lovely commode in this particularly regal room.

We think this French Louis XV Commode would look great in your home, too. For a more in-depth discussion about Fine French Furniture, see my By George! interview with Design2Share. And visit Bond & Bowery for the item detail page on this work of art.
