Four Seasons Istanbul - This Hotel is a Turkish Delight

Irwin Weiner ASID - It's our unofficial "Summer Vacation - Explore International Hotels" Week on Design2Share, and today's featured video focuses on the Four Seasons Hotel Istanbul at the Bosphorus. It's in the former prison that was featured in the Midnight Express movie, but you should be so lucky to stay here in its now-luxurious makeover as one of the world's highest-rated hotels. We've stayed here before, and can attest to its beauty, breathtaking views of the city and the Blue Mosque, stunning courtyard gardens and fountains (we coveted them!), and solid-solid-solid service, decor, and hospitality.

Hotel Savoy - Buenos Aires Old World Traditional Style with Some Twists

Irwin Weiner ASID - We can learn a lot about residential interior design from international hotels. We're covering the hotel beat this week on Design2Share because with summertime here, we're all planning destination vacation getaways. So why not stay at somewhere stylish. Who knows? You may come home with decorating, gardening, and color combination inspiration from your hotel stay that you'd like to experiment with in your own space. And that means indoor or outdoor space, too; we learned a lot about beautiful garden planning from staying once at the Four Seasons Istanbul. In today's featured video, you'll find an older building in Buenos Aires providing good bones for a contemporary, yet still very traditional boutique hotel makeover at the Hotel Savoy.

New York City Luxury Apartment Tour - Charles Street with Amy Lau

Irwin Weiner ASID - There's no contest that interior designer Amy Lau is at the top of our profession. Her skills and design sense are unparalleled. And that's why I think it's wonderful that Corcoran Realty teamed up with 1stDibs and several top designers to videotape luxury property tours, showcasing reactions from top decorators like Amy.

It promotes the real estate inventory in the City - yes, that's a given - but it also gives us the guilty pleasure of walking through these hallowed, prestige spaces guided by designers who know what's good when they see it. Amy tells us what she loves about this apartment in the prestige Richard Meier complex at 165 Charles Street. This property has already sold, but who cares? Let's take the tour ... as if we were in the market for this primo pad.

I'm an Apple-holic. I admit to being completely obsessed with my iPhone and my iPad. I look at the bright screen in the dark, in bed, at stop lights when I'm driving, and during my client appointments - because there are so many great apps that help me with my interior design business. What did I do before Apple came along?

If you're an Apple-holic, too, you can relate. Or any other tablet and SmartPhone user as well (Android apps are great, and I admit I'm addicted to them when we use our Google TV). I ran across these three relatively new (to me) home design industry apps that continue to add to the growing functionality of mobile devices and their many uses in everyday business and residential life - including inspiration and generating great ideas.
