Irwin Weiner ASID - Many visitors come to Design2Share looking for design help with the bedroom. We spend a good percentage of our lives in this single room, and nowadays it's become the new living room and an adult retreat center. Contemporary bedroom furnishings add sleek, modern elements to the bedroom, whether it be a guest room or a master suite - or as one frustrated wife labeled in the architect's plans for a new, separate room designed for her husband, the "Snoratorium."

With contemporary furniture of any kind, good designs rarely date. I like fresh, clean lines and sculptural forms on any piece, and they don't have to be hot and of-the-moment to catch my attention and merit a recommendation to clients. So here are a few random modern bedroom classics you'll want to look into further.

Austrian Artist Plunges Into Lighting and Furniture

Irwin Weiner ASID - Austrian artist Manfred Kielnhofer makes a spectacle of himself - and that's in a good way. I like the moxie of any creative soul who makes daring and bold statements, then puts them out in public for all to see. And Kielnhofer puts them out there, such as performance art in public parks and plunking his ethereal Time Guardians/Light Guardians sculptures into different settings taken from movies, posing wounded angel models with the ghostly figures, and photographing them in settings all over the world - see slide show below. The artist just sent us photos of a new series of tables, lighting, and chairs - see above and below - that follow his fascination with tubes (he made his Interlux chair out of industrial cardboard tubes). I applaud the creative audacity that keeps artists and designers experimenting and challenging our comfort zones.

The return is well worth the effort, as you can tailor your tomato variety to your culinary tastes, from perfecting the perfect sauce to slicing whole tomatoes for salads and sandwiches. Beverly Hills Interior Designer Picked by Prince William and Kate Middleton

Irwin Weiner ASID - We did a little digging and found out that Prince William and Kate Middleton have hired an interior designer . . . drumroll . . . from the United States. Beverly Hills Luxury Interiors, and Kenneth Bordewick, got the royal nod to give their rustic farmhouse near Wills' RAF air base in Anglesey, North Wales a good contemporary design making over. Spending time in the country will give the young couple much needed seclusion from the press for a year or two, then it's back in the limelight as this popular couple catapult back into everyday celebrity-watch territory.
