Dramatic Foyer
To open up the space in this Scarsdale home's foyer, Irwin Weiner removed a sheetrock wall that was once adjacent to the staircase, and defined the family-room space by adding a frosted-glass frame around its entrance. The porcelain composition dominating the wall is by Mexican artist Xavery Wolsky. Photo Credit: Billy Cunningham

Comfortable Hearthside
To give the family room fireplace some definition and pomp, Irwin designed a stone picture frame with a honed black-granite border. This room's inviting atmosphere makes it probably the most-used room in the house. Photo Credit: Billy Cunningham

Dining in Style
The Holly Hunt mahogany dining-room table comfortably seats 12 guests. The tapestry is an 18th century Flemish design over a 1940s goatskin and beechwood sideboard from Lorin Marsh. Flanking the tapestry are a pair of sconces from Homer. Photo Credit: Billy Cunningham

Bedroom Warmth
The furnishings throughout the home reflect the homeowners' love of rich burnt umber, raw sienna, golden autumn tones, and luxurious beiges that produce a calm and inviting atmosphere. This is especially true in the comfortable, homey bedroom which focuses heavily on the rust-reds and rich golds. Photo Credit: Billy Cunningham

Marbled Elegance
The slab marble pieces add grandeur to the master bathroom. Irwin and his design team at IWI added arches above the his-and-hers sinks and the tub area to add heightened architectural interest to the space. Photo Credit: Billy Cunningham
