Alberto Pinto: World Interiors
Newly released on January 10, 2012, this new book features exquisite photographs by Jacques Pépion and a globetrotting survey of Pinto's work: a Mexican beach apartment, a large family apartment in Manhattan, the interiors of a private jet, aboard a Caribbean yacht, a colonial house renovation on a small Caribbean island, a private plane decorated in the style of an English club, a modern duplex in Monaco, an oriental motif in a Kuwait City space, and others.

Mexico: a Beach Apartment
A large bay window and glass railings allow a panoramic view of the ocean in this big living room divided into two spaces, the larger of which takes on a Hollywood-style grandeur.

Manhattan Apartment: Entryway
The entryway of this large family apartment is on a monumental scale. The nobility of its dimensions is magnified by the carpet of marble on the floor, the pilasters, and the cornices in plaster mesh. But its theatricality comes from the rich display of blue-and-white Chinese porcelain found in the wreck of the Ca Mau, a ship from the East India company that sank in the eighteenth century.

Manhattan Apartment: Living Room
The grand living room underwent a major restoration that has softened the space, thanks to a subtle contrast of white and Wedgwood blue.

Manhattan Apartment: Bedroom
The perspective of the bathroom is interrupted by a comfortable armchair. Natural light streams onto the light sycamore wood, which is framed by a more somber stained sycamore. This contrast is repeated in the light marble flooring with black cabochons.

Caribbean Island Colonial House: Living Room
The renovation of a colonial house on a small Caribbean island. The large living room basking in light is a natural extension of the veranda. Contrasts are thrown up by the Portuguese furniture in dark wood, the armchairs in varnished rattan, and the ceiling lights in wrought iron. Color comes through in motifs of embroidery in the form of red thread that embellishes the furnishings.
