This Design2Share online collectible find is a three-door Lattice Cabinet by Paolo Buffa (1903-1970). 

Details

• Made in the 1940s
• Cherry wood cabinet carved as an open-basket weave
• Two left-hand doors reveal six mahogony shelves
• Ride-hand door reveals illuminated bar, one shelf, and four mirrored drawers with lucite pulls
• 5 feet tall x 18.5 inches deep x 5 feet 11 inches wide

Verdict

We're bowled over by the mad geniuses of Italian design, and while we're not Paolo Buffa savvy, we love this piece. The lounge era of the Forties probably made it mandatory to put a concealed bar into an otherwise utilitarian storage unit, but it strikes us as fun and crazy. Use this piece in the dining or family rooms for full-on storage of plates, table top accessories, and linens - and use the right-hand bar to serve your friends and family in tipsy style. Be extra naughty and use the piece in a master bedroom suite for storing folded clothes and keeping drinks on the ready in your private adult retreat.

Round We Go: Raindrops Mirror

• Made in the 1970s
• Rectangular frame made of steel, brass, and bronze discs
• Random placement of discs for "bubbling effect"
• Made by American artist Curtis Jere
• 31 inches tall x 5.75 inches deep x 20.5 inches wide

Verdict

The seventies style is currently red hot, and this seems like a safe bet to fit in with similar decor pieces. You may not have the cash for a Paul Evans piece, but this mirror gives a generous nod to the heavy metal furniture master. The rich range of patinas and finishes on the metal pieces add interest and depth to the mirror, and it's difficult to find an interesting mirror for most any room. We'd put this in a powder room, above the sink and flanked by some simple candle sconces.
